Strawberry Days parade applications now available

The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association announced that applications for the 117th Annual Strawberry Days parade are now available at The parade will feature the traditional Miss Strawberry Days entourage, community floats, live music and much more. It takes place Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. on Grand Avenue, from Eighth Street to South Hyland Park Drive, or the south end of Sayre “Strawberry” Park.

Floats will be divided into categories including: Commercial/business, political candidates and nonprofit/organizations. Floats will be judged and winners will be recognized for creativity and adhering to this year’s theme: “95th Anniversary of the Glenwood Springs Chamber — Celebrating Business and Community Since 1918.”

Applications are due June 1, 2014.

Grand marshals include local philanthropists and businessmen James Calaway and J. Robert Young. Past board chairs of the Glenwood Springs Chamber will also ride at the front of the parade.
