Summit County Coroner investigates human skull found on Peak One

An unidentified human skull was found atop Peak One in Breckenridge, according to a Summit County Coroner’s Report released Tuesday. Two hikers notified the Summit County Sheriff’s Office after they discovered the skull while hiking last weekend. After conducting a thorough search of the area, sheriff’s officers found no human remains or other evidence that could point to an identity.

The Coroner’s Office is gathering information to send to a forensic +++++++ to help identify the individual. An investigation is under way; the coroner has not released any other information at this time.
