Three Roaring Fork district school board seats up for election this fall
Three of the five Roaring Fork School District Board of Education seats are up for election this coming November, but the time period for candidates to declare is fast approaching.
Seats currently held by the two Basalt-area representatives, Bob Johnson (District D) and Jen Rupert (District A) will be up for election to four-year terms.
Also up for election to a two-year term is the Glenwood Springs-area District D seat, to which Shane Larson was appointed last year after former board member Daniel Biggs had to step down due to a move outside of the director district.
Prospective candidates can obtain nominating petitions from the district offices in Glenwood Springs starting Aug. 9, or in Carbondale once the district offices in the Bridges building reopen. Completed petitions are due by Sept. 1.
The election will be on Nov. 7.
