Glenwood Springs police said Thursday that Rogelio “Rocky” Mendez of Glenwood Springs, wanted in a child sex assault case, turned himself in.
Police earlier this week asked the public’s help in finding Mendez, 46, who is facing the second accusation involving sexual contact with a minor.
Mendez was arrested in July after a teenage girl told police that he had touched her inappropriately through her clothes. He was released on bond in that case.
Last week, another teen came forward and said she had been raped by the man. After an interview in which she described some of his scars and a medical exam, a warrant was issued for Mendez’s arrest.
A landscaper in the Aspen area, Mendez had not been seen since he left work Sept. 25.
