“The better it gets, the better it gets.” — Alan Cohen

It’s all good. Maybe you have heard someone say this before, but what does it really mean? It means that no matter what’s going on in your life, good or bad, it’s all good!

This can be quite annoying to hear if things are not good in your life. Of course, you naturally feel great when everything is going your way. However, trying to feel good when things are not going your way is an entirely different story. Problems and challenges may not feel great but the feelings linger because you are choosing to focus on the problem and how awful it is.

The truth is, problems are a wonderful playground of opportunity to see yourself more clearly if you allow them to do so. Once you are aware of the erroneous belief perpetuating the problem, you can shed some light on it and let it go. The contrast (what you want instead) shows up more clearly and the desire to change the situation automatically begins to create the solution, when you allow it.

So let me give you an example. Let’s say you are angry because no matter how hard you try, you can’t get ahead. Financially, life’s a struggle. First of all, the problem is not the situation. The situation is just a symptom of the problem. The problem is an unconscious belief you have about money and prosperity. When you take time to investigate the problem, which is your erroneous thinking, you can come up with the solution, which is always to change your thinking!

The solution is always available and easy to see when you recognize the problem is in your perception. Instead of focusing on how finances are always a struggle, you can start to focus on a thought you’d like to believe instead, such as: “I am great at managing my money.” And this is true because you are always what you believe you are! Your thoughts create your reality.

It’s good to know that the inner turmoil inside is just the lower self, the ego, believing it needs to protect you from a life of scarcity and lack. It only sees what is wrong, what needs to be improved, and it is relentless about its determination in being right. It thinks that everything needs to change so that you can be happy. What it doesn’t know is that you must be happy first, and then everything will change!

Your higher, more evolved Self knows the greater truth, that happiness is available no matter what your outer world looks like. It is a choice to remember this truth. There is a Divine Intelligence behind everything and when you relax and welcome it, a state of perpetual joy finds you. When you choose this joy in spite of your problems, the ego loses its hold on you.

This Intelligence also knows exactly what challenges you need in this lifetime so that you learn to go beyond the perpetually unhappy ego. The God Source is doing everything to push you to dive deeper within yourself so that you transcend this ego and discover the infinite aspect of who you really are.

So, whatever physical, emotional or mental problems you’re facing, they are all springboards to your spiritual growth. Each one contains the right amount of fuel to propel you into the core of your being, where you’ll discover the most sacred source of your existence. This sacred place can only be found through total surrender.

You’ve heard the saying “Let go and let God.” When the ego is let go of, there is no more room for suffering and the Divine is instantly experienced. As long as you are following your erroneous thoughts, believing them to be real, you cannot find Reality. While your mind/ego is running the show, the door to happiness remains closed. The good news is, there is always a crack open, and you can find it when you put 100% of your energy into trust. When you know the Universe never makes mistakes, and that everything is exactly as it should be, your body relaxes and the solutions become apparent.

So truly there are no problems when you realize that every experience can lead to joy in an instant when you know in your heart that no matter what, it’s all good. Your higher Self knows the solution, and all you have to do is relax and enjoy the journey. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
