Vocational Rehab hearing Tuesday in Glenwood

In March, Gov. John Hickenlooper signed legislation that will transfer the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation from the Department of Human Services into the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The legislation mandated that public meetings be conducted throughout the state to allow the public, including individuals with disabilities, opportunities to provide input. A meeting has been scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Glenwood Springs library.

“The meeting will continue an important dialogue between the Department of Labor and Employment and the disability community,” said Executive Director Ellen Golombek. “The information shared with us at this meeting — and what we have learned at other meetings — will help guide our work in developing legislation that will complete the transition and ensure its success.”

For more information about this meeting, visit colorado.gov/cdle/shapethefuture or call 303-318-8008.

American Sign Language interpretation and wheelchair access have been arranged. Reasonable accommodation or the services of a spoken language interpreter will happily be provided on request by contacting Lara Lemley at lara.lemley@state.co.us or 303-318-8008.
