Woman reports being mugged during First Friday in Carbondale

Carbondale police are investigating a woman’s report that her beads and cell phone were stolen after she was hit from behind in the alley behind the Village Smithy during last week’s First Friday event.

Her phone was later found nearby. She was treated at Valley View Hospital for injuries that police described as “fairly minor.”

Police said they had no suspects as of Monday.
