The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St., is set to begin a four-week class geared specifically to children ages 5 to 12. This class employs principles of painting, drawing and sculpture, but then moves into projects that combine a number of media. Children will learn about materials and then stretch their traditional applications by doing multimedia projects that explore imagination and collaboration.

“I made many new friends and next time I hope to make many more. Everyone made it a good time,” said Isabella DeHerrera, 11, of her class experience,

“Creating Outside the Box” starts Friday, Oct. 4. For information on tuition and scholarships, call 970-243-7337, ext. 2, or visit http://www.gjartcenter.org. A full schedule of fall, holiday and camp information for Mesa County children is available.
