Lois Hayes passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 82. A memorial service will take place Saturday, Dec. 4, in Tucson.She was born in Rifle on Dec. 18, 1921, the daughter of Carl and Zona Porter. She previously lived in Gypsum, New Castle and Grand Junction.Hayes is survived by four sons and three daughters, Carl Hayes of Norwood, N.Y.; Jerry Hayes of Crawford, Colo.; Bill Hayes of Gypsum; Ron Hayes of Rifle; and Judith Lovjooi, Becky Slunaker and Lisa Chavez, all of Tucson. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: James Porter of La Grange, Ga.; Bill Porter of Sweet Home, Ore.; and Maxine Frank and Margaret MacDonnell of Grand Junction. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Tuffy” Hayes, and son Glenn James Hayes.more obituaries, page A8
