Look at the entire picture and vote `yes’
Dear Editor,
With the burning question being about education, I believe it is time to say a few things. First, let me state that all things considered I have truly enjoyed teaching at Rifle High School for 25 years.
Second, I’m not going to get in an argument about the cost of this mill levy override. You know the facts. You know how little it will truly cost.
Third, please don’t turn this into a personal issue. I know Dr. Gary Pack. Besides being my boss, I enjoy his counsel and friendship. He knows his stuff, and he knows how to teach. He does a fine job as superintendent. He is a good man for Garfield School District Re-2.
Fourth, things are moving forward in our school district. Some things we cannot control. Some things I don’t really want to happen, but they will. Life goes on, growth will occur, change will continue. Let us live toward the future. Let us be prepared and help our kids and their education.
I am not in total agreement with this issue, but I am in strong support of the vast majority of this question at hand. I ask you not to vote against this matter based on small principles. Please look at the entire picture. Will this help our children, our school district staff and our communities? Let me answer that very emphatically with a resounding yes!
Fifth, what is the bottom line of this issue? It’s kids! Your kids! My kids! The neighbor’s kids!
Please vote “yes” on 3B.
