Lori (Gerhart) Hertl

Lori Hertl, 95, of Glenwood Springs, died Nov. 9, 2007, at E. Dene Moore Memorial Home in Rife. Lori was born Oct. 2, 1911, in Austria, to Elfrid Dlauhy-Gerhart and Anton Gerhart. She graduated from high school at the age of 14 and attended two years of college. Lori married Ernest Hertl Aug. 23, 1932. They fled Vienna and came to the United States in 1950. They lived in New York for six weeks before moving to Ann Arbor, Mich., before moving to Colorado and finally Glenwood Springs.A survivor is Henrike Thuer, who remains in Vienna.A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, followed by a high mass at 10 p.m. at the church.Following the services, Mrs. Hertl will be cremated. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is in charge of cremation. Some of her ashes will be returned to Austria, and the rest will be spread at Maroon Lake.
