Loveland, A-Basin rev up snowmaking guns
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
GEORGETOWN, Colo. ” The race is on.
Loveland Ski Area and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area are firing up their snowmaking guns for the first time this fall to get ready for the upcoming ski season.
The resorts traditionally have raced to be the first to open, usually in October. Last year A-Basin was first, opening on the 13th of October.
Temperatures typically have to drop below about 28 degrees for the ski areas to turn the snow guns on. Both Loveland and A-Basin are on the Continental Divide, where it was expected to be clear and cold Monday night.
