Lowell M. Miller

Lowell M. Miller, of Glenwood Springs, formerly of Parachute, died Dec. 12, 2009. He was 75.

Lowell was born Sept. 4, 1934 to Claude Scott and Catherine (Smith) Miller in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as a firefighter with Local 93, Engine 11 of the Cleveland Fire Department for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. In 1996, he moved to Colorado to be closer to his grandchildren.

He was an avid fan of whatever sport they participated in and spent much of his time attending swim meets, football, baseball, ice hockey and lacrosse games. Lowell enjoyed the outdoors and riding his ATV on the mountain trails of the area. He was most proud of his grandchildren and the fact that they were all currently pursuing a college education.



He remained devoted to his wife Arlene (Moczulski) who passed in 1979.

He is survived by son Kirk (Eileen) Miller of Glasgow, Mont., Scott (Terri) Miller; grandchildren, Stacey, Matthew and Nathan of Glenwood Springs; a brother, Earl (Mae) Miller of North Olmstead, Ohio; nieces Sandy Miller, Pam (Mark) Shepard and Gail (Rick) Barber and their respective families.



A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m., at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
