Lyle Franklin Parkes passed away Jan. 13, 2011. He was 68.

Lyle was born May 6, 1942 in Grand Junction to Zelma and Elwood Parkes. He graduated from DeBeque High School in 1960 and enlisted in the Army.

He married Ruth Kellim in 1967, and they were married for 29 years. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, model trains and racing.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Parkes.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Parkes, Somer (Aaron) Axelson; granddaughter, Brynn Axelson; Aunt, Elda Hiatt; significant other, Julie Flynn and family.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, 2 p.m., New Creation Church, New Castle.
