Man dies from injuries sustained in rollover crash
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. A man involved in a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 70 last Monday died three days later.The Garfield County Coroner’s Office said Diego Gonzales, 21, of Denver, died on Jan. 25 of injuries caused by the car accident after being transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.At approximately 7:10 a.m., Gonzales was traveling westbound on I-70 when his 2004 Ford pickup drifted off the road, skidded across westbound lanes, then exited the road again. The truck spun, then hit an embankment before rolling. Gonzales, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction via Flight for Life with serious injuries. The Colorado State Patrol investigated the crash, which may have been caused when Gonzales fell asleep.Post Independent, Glenwood Springs Colorado CO
