Police believe Jonathan Scott Gardner, 19, of Sun City, was driving north on the road when his 1990 Yamaha Raider skidded into the southbound lane and struck a Toyota pickup truck driven by Lawrence L. Liang, of Las Vegas.
Gardner was thrown from the motorcycle. He was flown to Denver General Hospital in critical condition. Neither Liang nor his passenger, Brad L. Stainette, also of Las Vegas, was injured. Gardner was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time.
