Man dies in rollover near Gypsum

A 35-year-old male died in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Interstate 70 near Gypsum.The driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members, was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra westbound when it went off the right side of the road at about 2:30 a.m. He overcorrected, causing the truck to cross the westbound lanes, travel into the median and roll 114 times. The truck came to rest in the middle of the eastbound lanes at mile marker 142. Both eastbound lanes and one westbound lane were closed for several hours as a result of the crash.The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
