Man dies in rollover on Thompson Creek Road

One man died in a rollover accident on Thompson Creek Road Monday afternoon.

A 1992 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on County Road 108, also known as Thompson Creek Road, when it entered a sweeping right, downhill turn, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The driver lost control and skidded off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle skidded back onto the roadway, after which it rolled.

The male passenger was ejected from the vehicle, and the female passenger crawled out.

Pitkin County Road and Bridge employees witnessed the accident and performed CPR on the male. He was transported to Valley View Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The female sustained moderate to severe injuries.

No names are being released at this time.
