Man dies in Silt bulldozer accident
SILT – A field mechanic for a Denver-based heavy-machinery company died Thursday in an accident involving a bulldozer.Richard Millet, a field mechanic for Power Motive Corporation, died of injuries suffered in a fatal accident Thursday morning. Burning Mountains Fire Protection District responded to the call.Jay Baugher, president of Power Motive, said Millet was working on a tractor belonging to a customer in Silt leading up to the incident.”He was attempting to repack the track adjuster on a bulldozer involved in dirt moving when the accident occurred,” said Baugher, via e-mail correspondence. “The exact sequence of events leading to the accident are under investigation by local authorities.”Baugher extended his condolences to Millet’s family and friends.”Richard was respected and well-liked by his co-workers and we will miss him,” he said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard’s family.”Additional information about Millet and the accident was not available at press time.
