Man flees from three-car accident

Special to the Post Independent/Ralph Delaney A collision occurred involving three vehicles Thursday morning on Four Mile Road.

A man fled on foot from a three-vehicle accident on Four Mile Road Thursday morning.

Colorado State Patrol Captain Rich Duran said a man driving a Nissan Sentra was heading toward Glenwood Springs on Four Mile Road at 8:05 a.m., and was in the process of passing a Toyota Tercel when he lost control and skidded 83 feet.

The Sentra slid off the road and struck a fence. The driver, whose name Duran did not know, fled on foot, but has since contacted the State Patrol.

While the man’s Sentra was sliding, the Tercel lost control and struck a large Kenworth truck owned by Gould Construction. Duran said he did not know if anyone was injured in the accident.
