March midvalley real estate dollars and transactions up from February

Midvalley market analysis for the month of March showed that dollar volume was up from February for the region, as were transactions.

While the area consisting of Garfield, Eagle and Pitkin counties hasn’t been posting record numbers, improvement is good. For the month of March, the area totaled nearly $4 million in total dollars.

Carbondale (Garfield County) led with approximately $2.4 million, accounting for 60 percent of those available. Basalt (Eagle County) posted just over $1 million and represented 26 percent of the dollars. El Jebel (Eagle County) rounded out the area with $567,000, 14 percent of the total.

With regard to transactions, Carbondale also led with 50 percent of the total available of 6, reporting 3 transactions. While Basalt had 2, representing 33 percent, and El Jebel had 1 with 17 percent.

The average residential price was down for the month to $659,083, while the median price came in at $558,500. For the year, the area has reported nearly $16.4 million in dollars and 26 total transactions. Year to date average residential price is $616,514 and median is $562,500.
