Marijuana, hallucinogens found as Garfield County Sheriff’s Department searches vehicle

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Garfield County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a man after allegedly uncovering more than 8 ounces of marijuana in his car.

Eric Eanes, 22, of Glenwood Springs was arrested Friday for driving with a revoked license. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. During a “procedural inventory” of the vehicle’s contents, deputies discovered more than a half pound of marijuana and other paraphernalia.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies contacted Eanes because he was wanted for questioning in Pitkin County. Why he was wanted for questioning was unclear Monday.

While formal charges have not yet been filed in the 9th Judicial District Court, Eanes was arrested on charges of distribution of a controlled substance ” hallucinogens, a felony, and for possession of more than 8 ounces of marijuana.

Eanes was booked into the Garfield County Jail, and bond was set for $12,000. He had an advisement hearing on Monday and was scheduled for a return filing of charges on May 20.
