Marion Lee (Phil) Baker

Marion L. (Phil) Baker, 87, born June 5, 1924, in Petersburg, VA, to Clinton and Maude Baker. He passed away with his family by his side, April 30, 2012, in Gunnison, CO.

A WWII Veteran, highly decorated while serving in the U.S. Army Airforce, Marion owned and operated the West Glen Grocery and Motel in Glenwood Springs.

Marion is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Shirley; and his parents Clinton and Maude Baker. He is survived by his children Dianne (Terry) Thomsen, Randy Baker, Linda Spann, Rick Baker, and Cheryl Sos; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held May 24, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., Gunnison Healthcare Center. Memorial Donations may be made to the GVH Healthcare Center at 1500 West Tomichi Ave., Gunnison, CO, 81230.
