Mary Hufner passed away Dec. 17, 2007.She was born April 29, 1951, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Andrew Lujan and Hortencia Cisneros. She moved to San Diego in 1968, and graduated from Helix High School in 1969. In 1993 Mary, her husband Dane, and her three children moved to Colorado on a whim because she saw a picture of Glenwood Springs at Christmastime. Mary really did love Christmas time.Her favorite hobby was playing bingo. She also enjoyed fishing, sewing, singing and gardening. Her most cherished gift was her ability to paint. She gave her all to her family, and loved her husband and children dearly.She is survived by her husband; stepfather James Sullivan; brothers Andrew (Lupe) Lujan, James (Rosemary) Lujan and Mark Sullivan; sisters Ida (Rick) Mackin and Lorraine Sullivan; children Lisa (Josh) Kissel, Tish Sanchez, Gina Thurber, William Thurber IV and Andrea Thurber; and grandchildren Kennith Kuersten, Kira Kissel and Nadia Lataj.She was preceded in death by her parents. A viewing is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Rifle Funeral Home, 1400 Access Road in Rifle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. the same day, also at the Rifle Funeral Home.Any donations may be sent to the family at 690 McCarron Court, Rifle, CO 81650.
