Mary Kraft
Mary Kraft of Ridgway, a former resident of Glenwood Springs, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was 41.
She was born Aug. 28, 1961, in Boston. She graduated from Cohasset, Mass., High School in 1979. She earned a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology from Mount Ida College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mesa State College in Grand Junction.
Ms. Kraft’s first job as a nurse was for Healthy Beginnings of Garfield County, from 1996 to 1998. She later worked as a nurse for Montrose County Health and Human Services.
Her passion was educating families about healthy parenting. She enjoyed hiking, camping, mountain biking and skiing, and she had a great ability to bring people together in friendship and celebration.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; by sons Colin and Tyler; by her mother, Virginia Gavin Walsh; by three sisters, two brothers and five nieces.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Ridgway Town Park, with a reception to follow at 546 Hyde St. in Ridgway.
Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose is in charge of arrangements.
