Mary “Muffie” Holloran, 55, of Carbondale, passed away July 29, 2008.

She was born April 22, 1953, in Evanston, Ill., to Richard and Nancy (Judae) Nickson.

Mary married Patrick Holloran in 1986 in St. Louis Mo., and lived in the valley for more than 17 years.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Crown Church in Carbondale, Actors Equity and ORFF Society of Music. Mary taught music at Basalt Elementary for several years.

She was talented and creative; a loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter; and a dear friend to many.

She is survived by her husband; sons Nicholas and Daniel; brothers Richard Nickson of Hobe Sound, Fla., Thomas (Elizabeth) Nickson of St. Louis, Thomas (Sue) Holloran of Denver, and Richard Holloran of Boise, Idaho; nieces Megan Holloran, Kathleen (Steve) D’Avria, Anne Nickson and Lauren Nickson; nephews Joshua Holloran, Zachary Holloran, Matthew (Joanna) Nickson and Timothy Nickson.

Mary was preceded in death by her father-in-law Joseph Holloran of Pueblo.

A Catholic mass of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at St. Mary of the Crown in Carbondale.

The family asks that memorials be made to LIFT-UP.

Farnum Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
