Masquerade Ball was fabulous

Thanks to all of our supporters who helped to make Meadow Mountain Academy of Arts and Natural Science’s first annual Autumn Harvest Masquerade Ball a fun and fabulous success!! To my daughter and the families of the Churchills, Conways and Eichers and to area businesses: Ben Rex, City Market ” Rifle, Tim’s Tools ” Silt, Town of Silt, Village Inn ” Glenwood, Wal-Mart ” Glenwood, we thank you all so much for your generous contributions and donations! And, to all the families in attendance ” great job on the stunning costumes and masks, we’re glad you joined us! The weather was superb, we had a great turn-out and we were simply blessed by all in hosting this wonderful community event!

Report: Estimates of future Upper Colorado River Basin water use confound previous planning

A report released this month by the Center for Colorado River Studies says that in order to sustainably manage the river in the face of climate change, officials need alternative management paradigms and a different way of thinking compared with the status quo. Estimates about how much water the Upper Colorado River Basin states will use in the future are a problem that needs rethinking, according to the white paper.
