May Bush heed anti-war marchers

Jack Sebesta

Dear Editor,

I participated in the anti-war march in Glenwood Springs on Saturday and read Lynn Burton’s account this morning. I saw the “official” counter, Felicia Trevor, count people as they passed a specific point, two or three at a time. She counted 850.

I think the experienced cattle counter, Jock Jacober, used the standard cattle counting method: “Count the legs and divide by four.” Ergo, 400! He forgot that he was counting two-legged people so his count should have been 800. An honest mistake.

In a serious vein, it was encouraging to see so many folks publicly register their opposition to the Bush administration’s headlong rush to war. The administration motto is “War is good for business. Invest your children!” How many of us agree with that philosophy? May they heed the pleas of the many world-wide anti-war marchers.

Hopefully,
