Media propaganda has got us fooled

Out On A Limb

In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote, “Propaganda tries to force a doctrine on the whole people. … Propaganda works on the general public from the standpoint of an idea and makes them ripe for the victory of this idea.”

How much of the so-called news that we hear on the media today is propaganda?

Are we being groomed and set up to become a nation of sheep that automatically responds to the victory of some idea of how this nation should be run?

We allow our children to be propagandized in government schools. For example, they are taught that global warming (climate change) is caused by humans in spite of historical and geological records that show it was happening way back before humans. All of this in spite of the evidence that the rise in CO2 levels follows the rise in temperature.

We are taught that drilling damages the environment, so we pay the Arabs to damage theirs. We are told that oil is a bio-fuel, yet we are never told how many fat dinosaurs you would have to mash per barrel of oil. Tell us how they got thousands of feet below the Mediterranean Sea or beneath the Arabian Desert sands.

We are told that the Twin Towers collapsed due to the aircraft impacts, but how come building seven went down like a planned demolition? Not to mention the incredible vertical collapse of the towers.

Why does evolution primarily focus on trying to prove man came from monkeys, which came from some primordial soup that also generated billions of kinds of insects, plants and animals? Show me how evolution created a caterpillar that can wrap itself up and change into a butterfly.

Tell me someone must pay a permit fee of $12.50 per foot to build a fence around their yard. That’s way more than the cost of the fence. Now fine them if their dog is running loose or fine them for abuse if they keep him tied up or in the house.

We are propagandized into believing that the killing of unborn children is alright because “freedom of choice” is somehow holy. In reality, abortion is freedom from the consequences of a choice already made and an action taken.

Since the concept is really freedom from consequences, let’s apply that to the rest of life. Actually our politicians have done that for themselves already.

Another area of intense propaganda is the concept that the environment is somehow holy and that humans are the parasite. Mother Earth is the goddess and we are the demons.

The so called “hidden gems” is really a spiritual response to the concept that the environment is somehow holy and the only thing preventing its attainment of perfection is greedy, selfish humans.

I could give you many other examples of how our rulers have propagandized us into submission.

I watched a program called the “Rise of the Third Reich” on the History Channel. They showed films of hundreds of thousands of Germans standing with glazed eyes and arms raised chanting, “Heil Hitler.” It made my skin crawl to realize that such a capable and intelligent nation could fall under the spell of a man and a concept that took the lives of millions around the world.

As I begin to reflect how we have gradually lost our freedoms and yielded control of our lives, I saw how we have been subjected to propaganda.

In reality the news media are the gatekeepers to a huge collection of information. They selectively release what is perceived to be of benefit to those who own or control the media.

Did you get as weary and disgusted as I did of the continual Casey Anthony trial? Did you wonder what all that smoke and mirrors was covering up what was going on in the rest of the world?

Is the propaganda causing you to have an emotional “Heil Hitler” response or are you seeking wisdom as King David cried out for in the Psalms?

Back off, take a deep breath and diligently seek truth.

“Out On A Limb” appears on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Ross L. Talbott lives in New Castle, where he is a business owner.
