Meet your merchant | Two Rivers Dental Center
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
What does your business do?
We provide comprehensive family dentistry to patients of all ages. Our office offers a wide range of general dentistry including fillings, crowns, extractions and dentures.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality dental care while building lasting relationships with our patients. Pairing the highest quality care with exceptional customer service creates a supportive and comforting environment for our patients.
What sets your business apart from the competition?
Two of the greatest fears the average patient has when coming to the dentist are the cost and the unknown outcome of the appointment. The first visit with our doctor consists of a comprehensive set of X-rays and a full exam. Dr. Urnise takes a full hour with each patient to make sure their needs are heard and they understand any treatment that needs to be done. Our providers go the extra mile to make sure patients do not just consent to treatment, but truly understand it. We are upfront about any costs the patient will incur and how to manage those costs. Our goal is to help every individual achieve optimal holistic health, as oral health is a direct connection to overall health.
What is your key for surviving the recession?
Clear and open communication about finances allows us to work with our patients to make their treatment needs attainable. We have competitive pricing in the valley while still providing the highest quality of care. We strive to ensure that our patients come prepared to appointments knowing what to expect. We take the time to help patients understand their insurance benefits and give them an accurate estimate of their coverage. We want to help our patients not only reach optimal oral health but also give them the tools to maintain it. Once a patient is healthy and receives preventative care regularly, they are able to keep their cost down long term.
What strategy do you use to hire good employees?
A clear vision for my practice allowed me to hire employees who are as dedicated to providing quality care as I am. Our staff was not hired solely based on their high dental proficiency, but also their ability to care for patients. All of my staff went through working interviews, allowing me to observe their interactions with patients to ensure they upheld our high standard of care.
What is your plan for growth in the next year in products, services or quality?
We plan on getting involved in the community this year by supporting our community’s health. Our all-female team has decided to begin giving back through supporting breast cancer awareness month in October and donating a percentage of production that month to breast cancer research. Later on in the year we will be participating in a build with Habitat for Humanity and hosting Give Kids a Smile. We are Cavity Free at Three certified, which is a state wide initiative promoting seeing children for their first dental visit by age 1. In addition we are going to be accepting Medicaid within the year to help with the growing dental needs in our community.
What do you enjoy about running a business here?
The wonderful people here have truly made me feel at home in the valley. Whether a person tells me their favorite bike trail, restaurant or ski hill, everyone has something to share. Many of my patients share my love of exploring the outdoors and have helped me to make great connections in the area.
