What’s your personal motto? “Oh, just live happy. Live happy and keep busy.”

Where was your last great trip? “The last great trip I took was to Europe in World War II in the infantry. I mean, that’s a life experience. There were millions of us who went through it.”



Where would you like to go next? “I don’t have anywhere else I want to go but be here.”

Age: 23

Lives in: Glenwood Springs (originally from Rochester, N.Y.)

Occupation: Ski lift operator at Sunlight Mountain Resort

What’s your personal motto? “Thoughtfully independent.”

Where was your last great trip? “This summer I rode my bike to Wyoming, to the Rainbow Family Gathering. It was great. I didn’t know what would be on the three ways I could have gone there, but I happened to chose the most scenic, through Utah.”

Where would you like to go next? “For a few years, I’ve been wanting to leave the country. Ideally, I’d want to go to Europe, but cost-effectively it would be South America.”

Lives in: Glenwood Springs (originally from Queretaro, Mexico)

Occupation: cook, counter person at Tortilleria La Roca in Carbondale

What are a few of your favorite things to do around here? “Work, be with the family, go camping.”

Where was your last great trip? “Mexico. I liked the mountains, the beaches, the beauty.”

Where would you like to go next? “Acapulco.”

Age: 26

Lives in: Glenwood Springs (originally from Butte Falls, Ore.)

Occupation: administrative assistant at MetalPrices.com in Basalt

What are you known for? “I’m better than I deserve.” (Laughing, she explained that’s how talk show radio host Dave Ramsey answers when he’s asked how he’s doing.)

Where was your last great trip? “We (she and her husband, Derreck) just climbed our first fourteener on Saturday. I was terrified, but I did it.”

Where would you like to go next? (Derreck answers) “Hawaii. It’s going to be Hawaii ” Kauai to be specific.”
