Meeting covers impacts of water diversions

A discussion Thursday will cover the impacts of water diversions on the Roaring Fork River Valley.The event is part of “Water Resources & You,” a monthly presentation by the American Leadership Forum.Alan Martellaro, engineer with the state Division of Water Resources Division 5, will address existing diversions. Chris Treese, of the Colorado River Water Conservation District, will cover possible future diversions and efforts to limit them.As much as 40 percent of the Roaring Fork River’s flow is diverted to Twin Lakes and the Arkansas Basin.The event will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Eagle County Community Building in El Jebel.
