John Trumbull Tolan of Glenwood Springs recently graduated from Colorado College, a Colorado Springs college.On May 18, 2009, Tolan was awarded a bachelor’s degree in geology. His parents are Robin and John Tolan of Glenwood Springs.Colorado College is a prominent, four-year liberal arts and sciences college that was founded in Colorado Springs in 1874.

Holy Cross Preschool kids came to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent for a tour of the building. They met the staff and learned how the paper is produced, printed and distributed in our community. They really liked the cartoons.

University of Saint Mary’s, a Leavenworth, Kan., school, held its commencement ceremonies on May 9, 2009, and a local resident was among the graduates.Chelsea Grace Voorheis of Glenwood Springs received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Kappa Gamma Pi and Delta Epsilon Sigma.The University of Saint Mary is a Catholic co-educational applied liberal arts university founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
