Marsh Jr. of Rifle is a new member of the American Angus Association, reports Bryce Schumann, CEO of the national breed registry organization in Saint Joseph, Mo.The American Angus Association, with nearly 33,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef cattle registry association in the world. Its computerized records include detailed information on nearly 16 million registered Angus.The association records ancestral information and keeps production records on individual animals for its members. These permanent records help members select and mate the best animals in their herds to produce high quality, efficient breeding cattle which are then recorded with the American Angus Association. Most of these registered Angus are used by the U.S. farmers and ranchers who raise high quality beef for U.S. consumption.Danciger Tybar Ranch LLC, in Carbondale, ranked as third largest in registering the most Angus beef cattle in Colorado having recorded 203 head of Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal year 2009.Angus breeders across the nation in 2009 registered 282,911 head of Angus cattle. “Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidify our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry,” Schumann said. “These results underscore our members’ commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry.”The American Angus Association is the largest beef registry association in the world in terms of both annual registrations and active members.
