Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park collected 841 cans of food from customers during its recent Music on the Mountain concert series. On Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, the Adventure Park offered a “can for a tram” promotion that included free tram rides and outdoor concerts in exchange for food donations for LIFT-UP. “This promotion was designed to help LIFT-UP stock up its Glenwood Springs food pantry in time for the holidays,” explained Steve Beckley, who owns Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park with his wife, Jeanne. “We are thrilled that so many of our friends and loyal customers, along with a lot of locals who hadn’t been to the park in years, came up to enjoy the concerts and help out others in our community.”The Adventure Park supports nearly 200 local organizations each year and is a founding member of the YouthZone Foundation.

Trisha Hunt and Ryan Whittington have announced their engagement. Both Trish and Ryan now reside in Grand Junction.Trisha is a 2006 graduate of Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She is employed at Two Rivers Winery.Trisha is a 2002 graduation of Grand Junction High School.Ryan is a 2007 graduate of Mesa State College with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and is employed as a teacher and football coach with the Delta County School District. Ryan is a 2002 graduate of Rifle High School.A Nov. 8, 2009, wedding is planned in Grand Junction.Trish’s parents are Dave and Sherri Hunt of Grand Junction, and Ryan’s parents are Brad and Patty Whittington of Highlands Ranch.

The Glenwood Ice U12 girls took first place in the U12 Silver division. They are having a great season and are still undefeated halfway through the fall soccer season. GO ICE!!

Wendy Anne Reed and Christian Lee Anderson of Silt welcomed their new son, Xavier Lee Anderson, on Sept. 28, 2009.Xavier was born at Valley View Hospital and weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 201⁄2 inches tall.Grandparents are Mary Reed, Charles Reed and Mary Anderson, and Kevin Anderson of Caon City and Grand Junction. Great grandparents are Dorothy Reed and Penny Patterson of Rifle and Grand Junction.
