Chris and Bekah Warga welcomed a new baby girl on Oct. 15, 2009.Alaina Joy Warga was born at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton. She weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 19 inches long. Grandparents are Mike and Shelly Weddell of Glenwood Springs, Lori Warga of Thonotosassa, Fla., and Jeff Warga of Livermore, Calif. Maternal great-grandparents are Betty Weddell of Gering, Neb., and Lyle and Joy Sanders of Bridgeport, Neb. Paternal great-grandparents are Dick and Mimi Warga of Castro Valley, Calif., and Yvonne Gillespie of Ashville, N.C. She also has several aunts uncles and cousins who are eager to play with her. Welcome to the world, baby Alaina!

Rachel Zancanella and Christopher Lawhorn met while enrolled in the engineering program at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. They currently reside in Colorado Springs. A Glenwood Springs wedding is planned for July 2010.Rachel is a 2004 Glenwood Springs High School graduate and earned her degree from CSU in 2008. She currently works for URS Corp.Rachel’s parents are Thomas and Michelle Zancanella of Glenwood Springs.Christopher is from Colorado Springs and is a 2001 graduate of Air Academy High School and earned his degree from CSU in 2008. He currently works for ITT Corp.His parents are Thomas and Donna Lawhorn of Colorado Springs.

Current midget players and coaches pose with alumni after the sixth annual Grizzly Hockey Alumni Game, held recently at the Glenwood Springs Community Center ice rink. The annual event is a crowd favorite and is always held during the holiday season.
