On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, Amanda Whiting Johnson received her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Colorado. Amanda is continuing her three year employment with OZ Architecture of Boulder, Colorado, where she not only designs but also creates sales models as well as developing and making sales presentations to clients. Since fall 2008 she has and will continue to teach first year architecture classes for the University of Colorado. She and her husband, Dillon, make their home in Boulder. Dillon is the manager of “Rally Sports,” a private athletic club also in Boulder. Amanda is the daughter of Kathy and Bryan Whiting of Glenwood Springs and the daughter-in-law of Karen and Dan Johnson of Basalt.

Jackie Jones and Sean Johnson have announced their engagement. The couple were engaged on Nov. 25, 2009, In Central Park, New York.Sean, who was a Post Independent reporter intern this summer, graduated from Mesa State College in December with a B.A. from the Mass Communication Department . His parents are Ron and Julia Johnson of Rifle. Jackie graduated from Fort Lewis College with a B.A. from the teaching program. She lives in Delta where she is a sixth-grade teacher for Delta Middle School. Her parents are John and Marie Jones of Delta.The couple plan to reside in Grand Junction after the wedding.

Mike and Kathy Clary are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.Jan. 17, 1970, marked the beginning of a beautiful life together. Your love is admired by all! 40 years of bliss and still going strong! Congratulations! Love, your daughters Korbie, Windie, Jodie, HeidieMike and Kathy, who now live in Parachute, were married in Wichita, Kan. There will be a anniversary party on Friday, Jan. 15, during happy hour at Fin’s restaurant in downtown Glenwood Springs. No gifts, please.

Erin and Jennifer Connor of New Castle are proud to announce the arrival of their third son, Treyton Willi Connor. He was born Dec. 31, 2009, weighing in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and he was 19 inches long. He has two proud older brothers, Cody and Colton, and proud grandparents Paul and Denise Connor of Glenwood Springs, John Pataky of Glenwood, Bob and Heidi Blu of Denver, and great-grandparents Willi and Emma Burbach of Denver.

Lindsey Hofmann, a sophomore child psychology major at the University of Colorado-Boulder has made the College of Arts and Sciences dean’s list for Fall Semester 2009. The dean’s list requires that a student hold a 3.75 or better GPA and be enrolled in at least 12 graded credit hours of coursework for the given semester. This achievement ranks Lindsey among the top students at CU.
