Air Force Airman Shane F. Beckius graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.He is the son of John and Wendy Beckius of 32nd Street, Glenwood Springs.Beckius is a 2007 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School.

Kim and Waynetta Antonelli and Ben and Linda Franklin would like to announce the engagement of their children, Ryan Antonelli of Silt and Krystle Franklin of Pagosa Springs.

Steve Jay has graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a Master of Science in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences. Steve is a 2003 Glenwood Springs High School graduate and the son of Howard and Mary Jay.

New Castle’s U10 girls soccer team won the Grand Mesa Invitational Tournament in their division on May 23. Teams from all over the state participated.
