The Kiwanis Club of Glenwood Springs has fun as well as raises money for kids. On Friday, Aug. 27, six Kiwanians camped out near the trailhead to Mount Huron, one of Colorado’s fourteeners (barely, at 14,003 feet), prior to departing Saturday morning for a hike to the summit. The trail winds for about nine miles (round trip), with an altitude gain of 3,800 feet, and is rated for difficulty as “advanced.” The first picture shows the expectant hikers about halfway up. The second shows the tired, but elated Kiwanians at the summit.
