More than 50 Grizzly Hockey players, their families and supporters enjoyed a beautiful Saturday morning by participating in the Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association’s first Grizzly Climb 10K+ hike up the Jeanne Golay Trail. The participants all left the Glenwood Springs Community Center ice rink at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and wound their way up more than four miles to the top of the trail and were greeted by a spectacular view of Glenwood Springs. Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association was pleased to organize a fundraising event that the whole family could enjoy and also associate it with the ice rink and fitness. Players and families established their own fundraising pages, via http://www.firstgiving.com/ grizzlyhockey and shared the page with friends, family and colleagues to seek donations for the Grizzly Climb.The Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association is 501(c)3 nonprofit youth association that provides opportunities for kids, 18 and younger, from Glenwood Springs and the surrounding areas, to participate in youth hockey. Registration is now open for the 2010-2011 Grizzly Hockey season, and players will begin practice on Saturday at the Eagle ice rink. Visit http://www.gsyha.org for more information.

Cpl. Rodrick Jennings and Amanda (Emmons) Jennings, of Oceanside, Calif., announce the birth of their son, Dominque Lee Jennings, at 12:06 a.m. on Sept. 22, 2010. Dominque weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 21 inches long at birth.Grandparents are Lee and Bev Emmons of Glenwood Springs, Rodney (Stacy) Jennings of South Bend, Ind., and Tanya (Brett) Bolling of Pikesville, Md.
