Brian Mable Karate School held its last test for 2010 on Dec. 17. The students that prepared themselves for this grading demonstrated a variety of skills, including the all important forms as well as blocks, kicks and punches for self defense, one step sparring and free sparring.All candidates were successful in passing to their next rank.Congratulations to each of the students for their hard work and dedication to Tang Soo Do Karate.

Jessica Lowry of Rifle is pleased to announce the birth of her son, Richard Sebastian Lowry, at 10:49 p.m. Dec. 18, 2010. Richard weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long at birth. Grandparents are Richard and Torry Lowry of Rifle. Jessica says, “Thank you, God, for making him so strong,” and sends a special thank-you to her sister, Tammy Morehouse.

This gingerbread train was created by Jennylynne Carter, a former Carbondale resident. Pretty amazing!
