Amber and Tyson Schrader of New Castle are proud to announce the birth of identical twin girls Avery Lynn Schrader, 3 pounds, 12 ounces, and Emery Louise Schrader, 3 pounds, 6 ounces, on March 1, 2011.Grandparents are Patty and Bill Brennan and Jim and Louise Schrader.

Two shooters representing the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge won the Mountain District Free Throw Contest. Sydney Scarrow (10-11) and Cameron Horning (12-13) took first place in their age divisions at the District Hoop Shoot in Craig on Jan. 22, sending both to the State Championship in Salida on Feb. 26. Cameron took first place at State, hitting 23 of his 25 shots. Sydney took second place with 17 of her 25. Cameron advanced to the Western Regional Championship on March 14 in Denver and took third after a three-way shootoff. Congratulations to both of our local champions.

Ryan Hertzog and Grace Tennant of New Castle welcomed their newest addition on Feb. 28. Bode Graham Hertzog weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. He joins big sister Charlee and big brother Bridger at home.
