Austin Usher, formerly of Rifle, and Chelsey Cox, formerly of New Castle, were married at the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs on Oct. 7, 2011. Austin is the son of Joyce Thomson of Aurora and Thomas Usher of Norman, Okla. Chelsey is the daughter of Mike and Kelley Cox of New Castle. Austin is a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, and Chelsey is a hairstylist/manicurist at the New You Salon and Spa in Memphis, Tenn. The couple currently reside in Bartlett, Tenn., with their two Jack Russell terriers, Rocky and Riley. A formal wedding is planned for June.

Congratulations to Caroline Dean, who graduated on May 14, 2011, from the University of Colorado-Denver with a major in International Studies and minor in Spanish. Carli is a 2007 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School. Prior to her college graduation, she started running and has since completed several 5Ks and 10Ks, two half marathons, and the Tri for the Cure in Denver. She has also been accepted by the Peace Corps beginning her volunteer service on Jan. 10, 2012, as a health promoter in Nicaragua. Carli is the daughter of proud parents Craig and Jan Dean of Glenwood Springs.

Journey Paige Davis was born to Chelsea Davis of New Castle on Sept. 29, 2011, at 4 p.m. Journey weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 19 inches long. Her grandmothers are Ziggy DeGall of San Diego and Nikki Brown of Silt. Journey’s great-grandmother is Theresa DeGall of Parachute.



Congratulations to the Downtown Drug bowling team. They brought home first place trophies from this year’s USBC state tournament in Denver in spring.
