Sopris Elementary School had a very successful box tops contest in October.More than 11,000 box tops were collected by the students, translating to more than $1,100 for the school. The classes of Kelly Philbin, Cindy Pittenger and Sally Friend brought in the most box tops, helping to earn an iPad for each class.

Bookcliff, Mount Sopris and South Side Conservation Districts recognized Steve Anthony of Garfield County Vegetation Management, for the many years of service to the conservation districts and conservation in Garfield County. Steve has been instrumental in the success of the noxious weed cost share program, assists the districts in weed management plans and is always on hand for educational workshops. The districts recognized Steve at their annual dinner meeting on Nov. 4.
