Memories & Milestones

On March 3, Ducks Unlimited Crystal River Chapter held its banquet at The Orchard in Carbondale. It was a terrific event, but one of the most exciting parts was the Greenwing participation this year. Junior Greenwings are younger Ducks Unlimited members. By joining Ducks Unlimited for a cost of $15 per year, they participate in the conservation, restoration and management of wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s wetlands. A Greenwing membership is for children age 17 or younger. The chapter decided to get more kids involved this year and get them outdoors to enjoy our beautiful Colorado scenery. Every kid received a Daisy BB/pellet gun, a Primos Pro Mallard duck call and an official Ducks Unlimited fleece vest. Thanks to those sponsors who made this happen: Harry Mayer Builders, Bass Pro, Daisy Manufacturing, Primos Calls and Ducks Unlimited national headquarters. It’s clear by the smiles on the faces of these enthusiastic attendees how much they loved the event and what the sponsors did for them. The 2013 banquet will bring even more smiles to the faces of our Greenwing members.
