On Saturday, May 5, a small group of former teachers from Garfield School District Re-2 met at the Columbine Restaurant at Rifle Creek Golf Course for lunch. Those enjoying a time of visiting and reminiscing were Dwight and Jessie Ryland, now living in Denver; Corynne Rienks, now of Grand Junction; Gordon Cooper of Rifle; and Jack and Barbara Smith of Rifle.

Ryan Games, son of Adolfo Games and Sandra Ursino-Gould, recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and minors in Aviation Safety and Applied Meteorology. Ryan was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force with an elite pilot training position at Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard AFB, Texas. Ryan was a 2008 Aspen High School graduate.

After 30 years at the Texan Bar, Toni is retiring. Join us for her party on Friday, May 25, from 5 p.m. till ?. Potluck, photos and funny stories welcome. The Texan is at 127 E. Third St. in Rifle.



On April 21, Megan Henrie of Glenwood Springs, gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl named Clairessa Marie. She was 19 inches long, and weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces. The proud grandparents are Randall and Kimberly Henrie of Glenwood Springs, and Anthony Bishop of Wichita, Kan.

Congratulations, Maggie Carbone, for successfully completing your freshman year at Columbia College in Chicago. We are so proud of you and your 3.5 GPA.Love, Carol Biedscheid Carbone and Kevin Carbone
