Angel and Monica Lujan of Rifle are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Drake. Drake was born at 3:01 a.m. March 15, 2013. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 22.4 inches long at birth.Grandparents are Ernesto and Adriana Martinez and Dominga Gonzalez of McFarland, Calif.

Andrea and Danny Stewart of Glenwood Springs are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Lucas James Stewart, at 12:23 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2013, at Valley View Hospital.Lucas weighed 4 pounds, 8.2 ounces, and was 171⁄4 inches long at birth.Grandparents are Colleen and Charlie West of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Lance and Linda Stewart of Loma. Great-grandparents are William “Bill” O’Farrell of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Alice and Darrell “Whitey” Stewart of Sun City, Ariz. Lucas’ aunt is Catherine West of Tucson, Ariz., and his uncle is Brian Stewart of Salt Lake City.

The Carbondale Council for Arts & Humanities is proud to announce the winners of the 2013 People’s Choice Award for the 33rd annual Valley Visual Art Show. Eric Allen came in third place for his colorful work of photography titled “Crystal Current.” Miles Phillips, a 19-year-old luthier, came in second place for his Stratocaster Replica made of ash, maple and rosewood. Staci Dickerson was the overall winner for her deeply moving oil on canvas “Grace.” These three artists’ works were displayed in CCAH’s R2 Gallery and at Bonfire Coffee with more than 60 other valley artists through the month of February.
