Jeff and Brenda Kaiser of New Castle are pleased to announce the birth of their son Maximilian Thomas Kaiser. He was born Dec. 28, 2012, at Valley View Hospital. His siblings are Lucas, Lauren and Kendall.
Jennifer Hubbard and Brian Withee were married at the Pines at Genesee in Golden, Colo., on Sept. 21, 2012. Jennifer is the daughter of Lori and the late Daniel Hubbard of Lakewood. Brian is the son of Jane and Randy Withee of Rifle. Grandparents of the couple are John Sanders of Lakewood, De Hubbard of Denver, and Dorothy Krohn of Plainview, Neb. Officiating was the Rev. Allen Anderson of Boulder, with a reception following the outdoor ceremony. Best men were Justin and Jacob Withee, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Lucas Wagner and Steve Tranby, friends of the groom. Maid of honor was Kristin Hubbard, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Suter, Caity Mergendahl, Julie Marino, Jaimee Finnigsmier, Ruth Foss and Katie Thompson, friends of the bride. The flower girl was Lily Williams and the ring bearers were Van Kemper, and Holden and Cash Wagner. Jennifer and Brian are both graduates of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Jennifer received her master’s degree in education from CU in Denver and is employed as a teacher at Thomson Elementary in Arvada. Brian is in the retail business in Westminster. Currently planning a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple is making their home in Lakewood.
The Silt Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) awarded Silt Citizen of the Year to Chris Classen and Silt Business of the Year to Silt Tool Rental in December. As Citizen of the Year, Chris clearly deserves this recognition for all he does as a volunteer at the Silt Historical Park, at the new concert venue in Silt (The Stoney Ridge Pavilion) and during the summer free Movies in the Park. Chris is employed with the town of Silt and can often be seen around town maintaining the parks and keeping the streets clean and safe. Give him a wave and congratulations when you see him working hard around the town of Silt.The Silt Business of the Year, Silt Tool Rental, is Terry Kirk’s newest venture. It can now provide the area with the tools and equipment needed by the homeowner or construction company for those jobs big and small. Everything from a power chisel or a small backhoe can be rented now conveniently and locally in Silt. Stop in to see the new handcrafted tile and stone fire pits. Forest Service investigates Independence Pass snowmobiling case; alleged culprit posted pictures on social media
Numerous people have identified Breckenridge resident David Lesh as one of the men riding snowmobiles on snow-free terrain near Aspen. Lesh has posted several pictures of his illegal activity on social media, including snowmobiling at what he identified as the summit of Mount Elbert.
