Meriwether and family need our help

Post Independent Writer

Dear Editor,William A Meriwether, a truly talented educator, photographer and framer has been diagnosed with bone cancer. Because of paralysis, several surgeries and radiation treatments, he is unable to work. His friends have planned a benefit so that William and his wife, Bobbie, can maintain their medical insurance, rent, utilities, and food bills. It would be devastating if he missed a health insurance payment. On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 4-6 p.m. we are holding a silent auction benefit at the Colorado Mountain College’s Blake Center on Blake Avenue in Glenwood Springs. We cordially invite people from all walks of life to join in helping us raise money for the Meriwethers. We will have items starting as low as $5 and a money jar for donations as well as many wonderful pieces of art, services and merchandise generously donated by loving people of the valley. Live music, beverages and refreshments have been donated. We hope you will come and bring many friends. If you would like to donate money directly into the William A. Meriwether Benefit Fund account, you may do so at any Alpine Bank. Please grace William and Bobbie with your thoughts, prayers and participation because although love is good and great and goes a long way, it sometimes is not enough!Wewer KeohaneCattle Creek
