Merry Christmas to all

Dear Readers,

The staff at the Post Independent would like to wish our wonderful communities a merry Christmas today.

Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus, marked by the giving of gifts and drawing together with loved ones.

We have closed the office to celebrate the holiday today, and we hope our communities are celebrating with joy this holiday season.

May glad tidings of the holiday fill our hearts and minds, while we hold in our hearts those who are facing sorrow or suffering.

For people in our communities who are hungry or homeless, the Glenwood Springs and Rifle communities open their arms to offer two free Christmas dinners.

The Christmas Angel Dinner will be served from 1-4 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church, 824 Cooper Ave. in Glenwood Springs. Those who attend will also receive a practical gift of a warm winter garment or toiletries.

The Extended Table Dinner will be served from 5-6 p.m. today at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Fourth St. in Rifle.

We wish all those who read and support our newspaper a warm and joyous holiday.
